Campaign for change as an Advocacy Ambassador: volunteers needed

The 2021 Advocacy Ambassador team will be advocating to pass a Modern Slavery Act requiring NZ business operating overseas to report any slavery or child labour in their supply chains.

We need young people with some understanding of advocacy, and availability to volunteer 4 hours a week while at University, in a trade or working.

All star kids club needs volunteers

The all star kids club are looking for student volunteers to work with children with special needs. Volunteers must be 15years or older and will be paid $25 per day to cover their expenses.

The All Stars Kids Club is a holiday program for children aged 5 – 15 years old, who have a physical and or intellectual disabilities. The program runs every school holidays from 8.30am – 3.00pm and is based at Shirley Intermediate School.

The All Stars Kids Club needs student volunteers who:

  • Have a desire to work with children who have special needs
  • Have a positive and inclusive attitude
  • Are reliable and punctual
  • Have a willingness to learn and try new things
  • Have the ability to follow instructions
  • Are able to mix well with others and be a team player
  • Like to have a bit of fun

Swim safe Instructors

The Christchurch City Council is looking to fill 2 types of jobs across its recreation and pool centers:

Swim Education Instructors – These roles have shifts of up to four or more hours and you will be responsible for delivering our Swimsmart programme. A range of shifts are available from 3.30pm – 7.00pm Monday – Friday and Saturdays from 8.30am – 12.30pm.

 

Swim Education Instructors, School Hours – These roles have varied non-regular hours available between 9.00am and 2.30pm Monday – Friday, during school terms. These shifts will usually be two or more hours in length. You’ll be delivering our Swim Safe programme to school groups, including both learn to swim and water safety skills.

Casual Work During Cup Day

Please be aware this job is for Cup Day which is during exam leave for seniors. Students should prioritize study and attendance at exams. These positions would be well suited to students with no external examinations.

 

Addington Raceway is seeking casual staff to work on Cup Day, Tuesday 12th November 2019 (During the day 9am to approx. 7pm). Please note this Tuesday is a normal work/school day.

Types of work available: Waitstaff, Cashier, Barista, Buffet, Kitchenhand

We are looking for students over 16 years of age , preferably 17 years and older.

This would possibly suit students training in Hospitality,(but not a prerequisite) or a group looking to fund raise for a trip etc

Work would be paid and payrate would be $17.70 to $18.50 per hour, depending on candidate experience.

A local business is looking at offering some part time work to a senior student after school for a few days each week. It would involve administrative work including; data entry and scanning.

A suitable student would need to be well-presented (school uniform is fine) and able to conduct themselves with professionalism.
